Since time-immemorial, Indigenous Peoples have been living in harmonious integration within their territories, and over time they have evolved complex knowledge systems and sophisticated technologies. Understanding this may help all human beings have healthier interactions with our global biosphere, and may help us address the challenges of a changing climate.

Technodigenous aspires to create a platform for the interactive gathering of Indigenous People and technologists, leading to a better understanding of different perspectives around technology.

We will explore the promise of new ideas to potentially protect and mediate trust and the value of Indigenous territories, knowledge, art forms and world views.

Ultimately, this may offer a platform for neutral and practical use of technologies as a solution to planetary challenges faced by everyone.

The main goals of Technodigenous are to:

  • Cultivate awareness among technologists as well as thinkers and funders with regards to Indigenous experiences, perspectives and aspirations when interacting in scientific and technological spaces.
  • Nurture a dialogue about best practices for the development and deployment of technological tools co-designed between Indigenous Peoples and technologists.
  • Facilitate an increased access for Indigenous participants to information and technology networks.
  • Identify concrete opportunities for the co-design and deployment of technological solutions to strengthen Indigenous guardianship.

Join us on this exciting discussion and share this event!

Participants:

  • Indigenous participants from different Indigenous territories from around the world.
  • Indigenous and non-Indigenous technologists and thinkers.
