Learning Exchanges

Gathering and sharing knowledge across our global network is at the heart of the Tenure Facility’s work. We regularly host Learning Exchanges, in which we bring together our partners, members of Indigenous and local communities, experts, government officials and donors to discuss lessons learned and best practices.

Africa Regional Learning Exchange, Kenya

With the theme of “Rights and Conservation”, the large-scale exchange examined how communities across the continent can protect their territorial rights and lead the way in preserving nature.

Asia Regional Learning Exchange, Bali

‘Empowering women and youth requires a shift in the way organisations work’ – this was a key finding of the regional exchange on social inclusion and youth, co-organised by Tenure Facility and partners.

Online 2020 Learning Exchange

In November 2020 the Tenure Facility hosted its seventh Learning Exchange, the first to be held entirely online. Overcoming challenges posed by the pandemic, it proved what could be achieved through the creative and adaptive thinking which lies at the heart of the Tenure Facility’s approach.

2022 Learning Exchange

The 2022 Learning Exchange brought together more than 150 people each day and featured regional sessions for Latin America, Africa, and Asia. It allowed for different actors to talk about how they have been securing tenure in their local contexts.

Bogota 2019 Learning Exchange

Project leaders from Africa, Asia, and Latin America met in Bogota, Colombia, for the Sixth Tenure Facility Learning Exchange event.

Hyderabad 2018 Learning Exchange

About 75 participants from nine countries participated in the 5th Tenure Facility learning exchange 4-6 October 2018 in Hyderabad, India.
