African pilots share lessons to scale up innovations

The African Learning Exchange, held 10 February in Dakar, Senegal, brought together pilot leaders from Cameroon, Liberia and Mali; observers from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, and Senegal; technical experts; staff from the Tenure Facility secretariat; and observers from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the Ford Foundation. Together, they considered ways to overcome barriers to improve tenure security, shared lessons from the pilots, identified paths for scaling, and advised the Tenure Facility on its approaches and services. In response to demand during the Dakar meeting, the pilot in Mali is organizing exchange visits to Burkina Faso, Niger, and Cameroon to share what they are learning and to scale-up innovations.
